Snapping Turtle

My friend and I were driving down my street the other day when we saw something moving VERY slowly across the road stopping all the traffic. It turned out to be a Snapping Turtle. Of coarse we had to get out of our cars to help the little guy across the road, and snap a quick picture with my cell phone It's funny because, I think my cell phone takes better pictures than my camera sometimes.

Here he is, you can see my friends foot behind him for size reference.

good size snapper, once in florida I did the same and a lady pulled over said she was oging to call the cops cause it was a gopher tortoise LOL

i almost hit a 18" snapper who was half way in the road. he was just sun'n itself. so i pulled over just before this stupid old women was going to pick it up for a photo opp.

I found a 2 inch hatch ling of one...and kept it for a bit...
They look so epic as babies
