need help

im new to leos and i am confused about the substrate i have heard that sand is bad because in can cause impaction. i heard paper towel/newspaper are good, however i was unsure because im using an under tank heater. if anyone has any suggestions on what substrate i should use that would be great thanx

Paper towl , news paper, reptile carpet are all good choices. I do not recomend sand because it can cause impaction. some people do use it for adults but never on a baby. I would not take the risk either way.

I use and recommend paper / paper towels. Safe for your geckos and easy to clean. Just make sure to keep a thermometer on the paper above the heat pad to measure the surface temps
