In the wild some animals go through the hibernation or brumation period. From my understanding this plays a big role in their lives. For example it gets them ready for breeding, it allows them to "re-charge" their batteries for a lack of better terms. Do any of you think that all captive animals should be allowed a cooling period? Even if you are not breeding?

Do you think that by giving them a hibernation period, this could allow them to live longer and healthier lives?

Just food for thought.
