I looked in on my Bell Female last night, and the tip of her tail is all chewed up, and partially missing!!!!

She is housed alone, and I didn't notice it the other night. I am assuming she is chewing on her own tail, and am taking her to the vet tomorrow. I think he may need to amputate the tip of her tail. Has anyone else ever seen this???

I feed mealies, her last shed appeared to be fine, and her temps are within normal range.

She can't burn because the rack has back heat, and she can't get too close to the heat tape. I am stumped as to why she might be chewing her tail.

Tony-how is she doing?
If she is indeed chewing on her tail- can anyone venture a guess as to why
a Leo would do this?
I know that birds can pluck feathers and many dogs will chew on themselves but but I have never hear of this type of behavior in a lizard

my theory is , she just mistook her tail for a nice plump food item. and realized it a little later.
