Hey guys
One of my young geckos is having difficulty shedding all the skin around his eyes. He has a nice and humid hide which he uses daily but some of it still wont come of. Today is day 3 that he's had a bit of skin stuck just above his eye. I tried getting it off but he is still just to active in my hands so it's almost impossible! Any suggestions?

Hello Wg25,

Since it's not life and death shed (although some shed can) I can give you some advice to of getting it off.

1. Get a bowl big enough to fit your gecko, it must be shallow

2. Fill the bowl very shallowly with warm water

3. Put your gecko in

4. Get your hands wet and gently scrub the un complete shed.

Good luck!

It's not unusual for some geckos to retain some shed and then we have to help them. Sometimes those tiny pieces are hard to remove and you have to use your fingernails to pull it off. You may also have to use a tweezers and despite my initial reluctance to do that, I do have a steady hand and it's worked out fine.
