I just found some mold/fungus growing in one of my hides. The girls haven't eaten in two days and have brown discoloration on parts of their bodies, I assume is from the mold/fungus. I've washed them off with chlorihexidine and have them in a clean dry cage. I don't have any decent vets around here but I'll take them anyway. In the mean time is they're anything else I can do????? Thanks so much
Karen

Was the hide a humid hide?
One time I noticed that one of my geckos pooed in his humid hide and It looked like it was starting to grow mold. It was very little so I just cleaned the hide and put clean substrate in. If you have a hide pooper, you have to keep an eye on the hides. Maybe the brown coloration is from stress... have they been breed? It's always a good Idea to take to a vet if you are unsure of health. I hope they are ok. good luck!

take it to the vet.

usually the high humidity builds mold easily.

what kind of bedding are you using in the cage?

I have them on kraft indented paper. Good substrata. Easy to clean, somewhat absorbent. I really like it. The hides are meat cartons with moist paper towels.
Thanks,
Karen
