Hi,
Just thought I'd share pictures of my Exo Terra 45cm x 45cm x 60cm.
Materials:
Scrap hose pipe
Expanding foam
Black Marine grade silicone
Loft insulation foam
Aquarium Gravel (I had spare)
Vivarium compost
Tools:
Standing knife
Here's it emptied and cleaned:
I then siliconed pieces of acrylic that have grill like cuts to stop big pieces of dirt and just let water through.
Silicone loft inulation to back. You can also see the acrylic.
Silicone another bit of lost insulation to make a shelf, slanted to help flow. Also siliconed another bit of acrylic to make a box.
Siliconed another lost insulation shelf, for aesthetics.
LOTS OF EXPANDING FOAM!!! I also found 2 white rocks that I put on the left for water to run down. You can also see the hose that runs down the left behind the foam. Also cut a crevasse into the foam shelf.
Cut away at the foam to make it how you want. Now to add aquarium gravel, I just covered the crevasse in silicone and poured gravel into it, pressed it in.
Add dirt, same way as gravel. Covered in silicone and pressed dirt into it.
Add plants, soil, lighting etc
Only thing I haven't done is added a filter, I'm wondering if someone could help me with that. I don't know what LPH is should go for. And any plants I should look at adding.
Hope you like =)
*on viewing this, the photos come up massive and off the screen, if anyone knows how to fix this, please share =)*
