Black Pearl *natural light pics* plus extras

Matthew Walker, I think his handle on here is garweft or something stupid like that. :main_cool3: That one popped out last year and I'm really hoping for another one this year since that one died on me. :main_no: It hatched pure black but browned out as it grew so I wasn't too excited...

    Alby's method and condensation

I don't measure how much water I add to perlite. I add perlite to my containers, spray in some water and mix it up. I then put the lid on and stick it in the incubator. The next day if there are large water drops on the lid I take it off, shake off the drops, and replace the lid. I do this every...

    Getting ready for breeding season

Just being board taking some pics of breeders before the season starts. The white balance was off a bit so I need to redo everything. The previews looked good on the camera display, but on the screen they are a little bit off. But I can share the pics here so at least it wasn't a total waste of...

    DARN ! i can't believe ! what is that !??

I hatched one just like it early this year from a bold stripe x reverse stripe project I started a few years ago to produce my own eclipse. The dad was a BS that had produced RS and the mom was one of his RS daughters. It eventually faded to a nearly solid yellow leo in about 2-3 months. It was...

how can i tell the tremper hybino from a normal tremper?

I should add that as they age, and the yellow starts to spread, it gets easier to tell. :D

how can i tell the tremper hybino from a normal tremper?

Do you mean as hatchlings or adults? I'm going to guess that you can tell the adults apart so I'll focus on the hatchlings. First think of a 2-3 week old superhypo and a 2-3 week old normal or low quality hypo. At this age the center of the bands starts to lighten while the edges keep the...

Leo on the cover of Nature magazine....

When I saw it in my mailbox I thought it was the newest issue of REPTILES magazine, but that's not due until another week or two. I would like to blame the photo choice on one of the editors, but the photo credit is to the first author of the article..... I wonder if it's a pet. :main_yes:

    making an enigma from scratch??

From what I've heard it just popped out of his albino colony. But Kelli would know better about that. :main_yes: BTW... My wifes name is also Kelli and is spelled the same way....weird huh. :p

Leo on the cover of Nature magazine....

Just though that everyone would be interested in knowing that a Leopard Gecko has graced the cover of the scientific publication Nature. The only bad thing is that the article that it represents is on a new adhesive called geckel that combines ideas gained from mussel adhesion and the hair like...

    Feeder costs

I marked $50-100, but that's just the Leos. Counting my rodent bill the price jumps up considerably.

Check out what I picked up at a flea market!

Check the shelving area at your local Home Depot or Lowes. They usually sell extra shelves and replacement parts for those types of shelving units. Our Home Depot carries them in 2 different shades of fake wood, in addition to black, and white.

    Estimate of Annual Revenue.

This question made me laugh a little, so I did some figuring. I spend $100 a month on food during the baby season, and $50 during the off season. So, not counting my initial investment, any new Leo purchases, the cost of caging, supplies, electricity, or the work involved, I spend about $1000 a...
